Thoughts on Thoughtlessness

Current mood: Reflective (May 25, 2007)

midnight

In words I delve and raise the sun
In words the winter comes undone
But words can cut and rend a heart
In words a soul is torn apart

I think upon the words I’ve said
In heated moment, feelings dead
And all the people in the past
I’ve hurt and scorned, a pain that lasts

I’m older now, and wiser too
And know the retribution due
But it matters not for I am changed
My heart’s not dead, just rearranged

With words I pass a message on
To friend and foe and unborn son
With words just say the kindest things
And raise above all queens and kings

My Yin And Yang

Current mood: melodramatic (June 08 2007)

yinyang

On my two sides of reality
Where heaven and hell reside
A path glimmers ahead of me
But twisted-forked and wide

I stand and stare and hesitate
My mind’s eye pulled aslant
But here I still prevaricate
And try to move… I can’t

Then I see you through heavy lids
But ghostly, split in twain
One light, one dark – you’re my dual ids
Of promise and of pain

Is light good? I ask the pair
Or is that just a tale…?
Perhaps the dark is mine to share
…or do I choose the pale?

But now I feel a rage build high
Why do I need to choose?
I’ll take my own path, by and bye!
I’ll pick the two of you!

With ghastly shrieks they rend themselves
and fade into the night
…I know within my inner self
The choice I made was right

A single path now stretches far
Not straight, but gently curved
I may not get my heart’s desire
I’ll get what I deserve

Blighted and Cursed

Current mood: directionless (June 14, 2007)

Imbued, infused, imbrued, elated
Embroiled, embattled, embittered, deflated
Exalted, exceeded, excited, invested
Excluded, expelled, expired, detested

Enthralled, enchanted, enthroned, admired
Repelled, rebuked, rebuffed, undesired
Defined, defiant, delighted, expanded
Foretold, foreshortened, forgotten, abandoned

Calling
Failing
Falling
Quagmired

Heartfelt
Heartbroken
Heartworn
So tired

The First Step

Current mood: Shaky, but gaining confidence (June 18, 2007)

Wobbly legged, a newborn foal
Stands uncertain in the breeze
Damp furred, thin, feeling the cold
Blowing gently through the lea

A new life starts as another ends
Eternal balance kept
And with guiding mother to defend
Our foal takes its first step

Without Substance

Current mood: Pretty content, for some strange reason… (2007)

Too CLose

I fly, yet never too far…
I strive to reach the heavens
and burn like Icarus in the sun’s flame
But you trap me to the cool earth with your warm embrace…
And I am glad of your protection

Seedling

After all that’s said and done
With all your battles lost and won
When your wounds begin to to heal
And your heart begins to feel

Shrug your shoulders from the grind
And let peace invade your mind
Let it be, and so relent
Time to rise…

…and be…

…content
